After an administrative error resulted in the exclusion of the Muwekma Ohlone from the official list of federally recognized tribes, the Tribe has organized to preserve its history and culture, attain reaffirmation of federal recognition and status, and continue exercising sovereignty that existed long before the State of California and the United States government. In this Native American Heritage Month presentation, Chairwoman Nijmeh will discuss the Trail of Truth she is leading. The Trail of Truth is a national horseback tour from Muwekma Ohlone homelands to Washington D.C.
