Join the Alameda Architectural Preservation Society on the 2026 Alameda Legacy Home Tour! Support preservation and spend the day on a lovely island visiting the interiors of seven unique historic homes built from 1925 to 1936, an era in which “Storybook” homes influenced by trends in Hollywood were all the rage. The homes are all within walking distance of each other in Alameda’s iconic Fernside neighborhood. Built largely on the former site of prominent historical figure A.A. Cohen’s magnificent Fernside estate, it features a unique concentration of homes that romanticized architectural styles borrowed from Medieval, Spanish Colonial, and American Colonial periods.
